Before moving out to NYC I was told that I should make my way to Upstate New York to a little artsy town called Beacon. Last week, I went on a day trip with my sister who was in town and got to visit Dia:Beacon which was just a photographer’s dream…not only was there inspiring art, but the building was filled with natural light..my favorite thing! Also, I am not used to being in front of the camera but I think the lighting and my fall ready outfit from Achro helped eased the pain. And if you are here because of my Instagram post, you know I’m offering a promotional code “JOANNEPIO20” for 20% off anything on the site which ends Oct. 15th, so get on it because fall is here (well, at least in NY)!

Jeanne Chan // Shop Sweet Things

29 May 2014

Last month, I took a little trip to San Francisco and I made sure to make time to meet up with some friends that I met through Instagram. I was so excited to finally meet (in person) the ever so sweet Jeanne Chan. I’ve always enjoyed looking at her photos on Instagram and reading her blog about her life in SF with her most adorable family! We met up The Mill and so glad we did. The toasts, coffee, and interior was just perfect! Our time together was definitely too short but so thankful that we got to know each other a little better and even took some portraits of her. She is incredibly nice, has a lovely smile, and has great style. And now I can say I have an SF friend!

Sara Tso

7 March 2014

A few months ago, I met up with the amazing baker Sara Tso of Matchbox Kitchen. We had lunch at Grand Central Market in Downtown Los Angeles and then while chatting over coffee at G&B decided to take a few snapshots. Hanging out with Sara is so much fun since it usually involves talking about food and dessert, of course.

Joanna Waterfall

3 March 2014

Met up with the always sweet and very talented Joanna Waterfall at Little Dom’s in Los Feliz for brunch. We ate, chatted, and ate some more so we didn’t leave any for photos…oops. And after we shot some portraits around the area and luckily no one told us to get off their front yard.

Claire Zinnecker

26 February 2014

Back in December,  I got to meet up with Claire Zinnecker, a very talented interior designer and just the sweetest southern girl I’ve ever met. We were first Instagram friends and when she decided to visit California I knew we had to meet up in person. We hung out at Grand Central Market and then headed over to Arts District where I grabbed a few shots of her.
